This is an example of what I learned in my cad lesson the other day. Just learning how to do camera moves and render settings. The video is really boring but it was helpful practice.

I am also working on a metamorphosis animation in which a lion coughs up a missile then peels back his own skin to reveal an anti aircraft gun. for the actual transformation i have taken influence from this brilliant animation by Pat Smith. Check out his other animations Puppet, Special Delivery and Handshake also. They are all quite dark but very funny.

About My Current Work

The animation I am working on at the moment will be 2.5D or Pseudo 3D. Layers of 2D cutouts set up in 3D space to create the illusion of 3D. Here is an image set up in a similar way to give you an idea.

Just to let you know, At the moment i have no camera to take pictures if my design sketches or art. During christmas i'll get one and start showing this work. Don't hold your breath.

Animatic Pics

Just working on the assets for my current animation. These pictures from my animatic will give you an impression of what the style will be. Its not going too well at the moment, having a bit if trouble with the programme cinema 4d. Having to draw out every pose the characters go through in this style is doing my head in but i guess i just need to get on with it.

This is my very first animation ever attempted. From our first module Principles of Animation. I used traditional hand drawing, then Dragon Stop Motion software to capture every frame. Then put the animation frames as layers in photoshop and added further movement. Also added the background which I painted.

I was quite pleased with the result as my first ever stab at animation but its still a bit jumpy and flickery. I guess you could say it adds to the character.
Hello viewers and welcome to my Blog. Here I will post what is going on with my latest artwork but mainly animation. Also things I see that inspire and influence me.
I am currently studying a Foundation Degree at Newcastle College so this blog will be about what is going on with that also, hopefully helping me keep organised.
